What am I talking about?
Beanfields Crispylicious Bean and Rice Chips.
VegNews magazine had this to say: “We are obsessed (no, really) with Beanfields’ new Nacho Bean and Rice Chips. The vegan answer to Doritos."
So do I think VegNews is correct with their rave review?
Beanfields was confident I would think and taste the same thing, they sent me out an amazing selection of their Bean and Rice Chips to try out, share my thoughts and giveaway 6 bags to one lucky winner! A $20 Value.
Before I share my review, I think you need to understand what a creative way Beanfields has found to use Beans and Rice in making a Gluten and Corn Free Snack. Beanfields which is a family owned business takes wholesome and nutritious beans and blend them with long grain rice to create snacks that are loaded with fiber and protein. In fact Beanfields Bean & Rice chips contain double the fiber and protein of most corn tortilla or potato chips! Guilt Free Snacking!
Also an important fact: Beanfields is free of every one of the FDA's eight most common ingredients that trigger food allergies.
So can something so healthy taste great? My answer is YES ~ It is possible and Beanfields has mastered this feat!
Beanfields Nacho Bean & Rice Chips had a nice light texture and were full of flavor, in each and every bite. I still can't believe these beauties are made out of beans and rice. They did remind me of other Nacho cheese chips, but better because they were so light and covered in flavorful seasonings.
The Unsalted Beanfields variety allowed the natural flavors to shine through. They reminded me of tortilla chips but had a nutty undertone.
The Sea Salt Bean & Rice Chips took the Unsalted a step up with a nice light sprinkling of sea salt. I was surprised how a little sea salt can add a nice balance of the nuttiness.
So, when I tried the Sea Salt and Pepper bag of Beanfields I was delighted with a gourmet experience. They were perfectly balanced and seasoned. The pepper added a whole other dimension without being too spicy.
I must admit my favorite where the Beanfields Pico De Gallo Bean & Rice Chips.
They were full of seasoning with a slight kick at the end. It left me wanting to eat more and more and more. I had to hide my bag from my boys, because after they polished off the Nacho bag, they wanted to try this one next. So who wanted to try some Beanfields for you own?
