A company that got it name from a "pound puppy" that became a part of their family for 16 1/2 years...
I had to learn more! I knew in my heart that there was something special and free spirited about such a family owned and operated business. A family that cheered "Go Max Go" to their four legged friend....who taught them to be tenacious and chase after a dream....
So this Vegan, US based, family owned busines began and was fittingly named...
Let me start by saying, don't be turned off by the word Vegan if you chose not to be part of this lifestyle. I know personally, we are not practicing Vegan's, but being a foodie has open my horizons. I like to be free spirited myself and not to shy away from the new and unknown things. Just because you have not experienced something food related from a different culture, food style or choice; doesn't mean you should fear what you have not tried. It means you need to meet it head on and see what makes these foods enjoyed by many.
So be brave (and crave the Go Max Go Foods line of sweets) and learn more with me as I describe my food journey with the samples of all 6 Candy Bar Varieties from Go Max Go Foods I received. (They are amazing!!! I would never have guessed in my wildest dreams there are Vegan). And Enter for your chance to win 6 of these candy bars to enjoy yourself.
Before I began my adventure, did you know all Go Max Go Candy Bars are Dairy Free, Contain nothing artificial, No Cholesterol, No Hydrogenated Oils and No trans fat? Well, they are and still some how (almost magically) are full of sweet goodness that leave you wanting another.
I am going to start with my favorite Go Max Go Foods Candy Bar....
Twilight (no just just for its name..you vampire junkies)
Caramel, Chocolatey nougat coated in a rice-milk chocolatey coating. YUM!!! The caramel was nice a firm, but not hard. It added a great chew to this sweet treat. It was not too sweet and the coating was smooth. I reminded me of a milky way.
My middle son absolutely loved the Mahalo.
How could you go wrong with this candy bar....coconut, almonds enrobed in a rice-milk chocolatey coating? You can't! It was like a almond joy with a delightful make over. I was pleased it was not over the top sweet. At times coconut can have the effect....But, Go Max Go Foods found the balance. The almonds placed on top were crunchy and perfect. I love that the coating was very light on this candy bar, letting the natural coconut flavor shine through.
My second favorite and close to a tie with my number one was Cleo's Peanut Butter Cups.
I appreciated how Go Max Go Foods did not individually package the peanut butter cups. I think that shows restrain and helps to not waste with unnecessary packaging. The creamy, silky peanut butter inside was so fresh and slightly salty. It married with the rice-milk chocolatey coating. Now if it only came in a King Size package.
My oldest son raved over the Buccaneer.
Chocolatey nougat wrapped in a rice-milk chocolately coating. It reminded me of a three musketeer only sweeter. This candy bar was nice a soft and with a smooth nougat.
Jokerz
Caramel, peanuts, nougat covered in rice-milk chocolately coating. The candy bar was beautiful to look at inside. The top layer of caramel was nice and chewy, but not hard. It was very buttery, reminding me of butterscotch. The peanuts tasted fresh and had a nice crunch. It was similar to a snickers, but the caramel made it stand above and beyond.
Snap!
What a great name and so fitting. This is a simple crisped rice in a rice-milk chocolately coating. Very tasty.
